Close to San Bartolome there is one of the first creations of the late Cesar Manrique.
Campesino means farmer or countryman.
The monument was constructed to commemorate the hard work of the many generations of farmers who even after the devastation caused by the eruptions, continued to farm the land.
The museum was constructed from an old farm house which was extended by Cesar Manrique.
The museum is home to a collection of extraordinary instruments and equipment which had been used by the farmers.
