Papagao

Papagao is about a ten minute drive from the centre of Playa Blanca where there are some of the most beautiful beaches on the Island. There are several bays where one can relax and sun bath, the sea is very clear and the beaches slope gently into the sea.

There is very little else at Papagayo, this makes it one of the most relaxing and peaceful places to be Lanzarote where time seems to pass so slow.

There are no hotels or any kind of modern buildings, there is however a small restaurant on the hill between two of the beaches.

There is a caravan park situated at Papagayo, this does not appear to be open all year round.

Many of the beaches here are used by naturists but it is not necessary to join in if you do not wish.

The road to Papagayo leaving Playa Blanca is unmade and there is a small charge of three Euros to enter. There are designated car parks.
