Mala is situated 1 kilometer from the coast in the North East of Lanzarote.
Mala is not a tourist area although there are some holiday rentals available.
The village is very tranquil and picturesque, and is set within large cactus plantations.
There are a couple of mini supermarkets, together with a couple of snack bars.
One has to travel to Arrieta for the larger supermarkets and banks.
There is also a mini supermarket at the village of Guatiza.
